Online Safety & Remote Learning · Madrassah Fatima Tu Zahra

Online classes

Online classes are delivered on [platform], using accounts managed by the madrassah. Links are shared only through the portal and must not be passed on.

  • Students join from a quiet, appropriate space, dressed as they would for class, with their camera on unless the teacher agrees otherwise.
  • Lessons are not recorded by anyone, staff or students, unless all participants (and parents of under-18s) have agreed in advance.
  • Teachers never arrange private video calls outside timetabled lessons.
  • Screenshots or recordings of other students must never be taken or shared.

Communication

All messages between staff, students and parents go through the MFTZ portal, where they are kept securely and can be reviewed if a concern is raised. Staff do not use personal phone numbers or social media to contact students.

Reporting a problem

If anything online makes a student feel uncomfortable, they or their parent should tell the teacher or the Designated Safeguarding Lead straight away (see our Safeguarding policy). Serious online abuse can also be reported to CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) through the National Crime Agency's website.
